Amazon employees have begun running the company's internal AI tools on trivial tasks to inflate their token consumption metrics.
Several workers told the Financial Times that despite official assurances from Amazon that tokenmaxxing would not factor into performance reviews, there was significant pressure to demonstrate heavy AI usage, and that managers appeared to monitor the figures regardless.
